Mancini's Sleepworld to Bunk with Staples

Vintage Oaks mall area will soon have four mattress retailers.

Mancini’s Sleepword, a Bay Area mattress retail chain, is expected to open its Novato location this spring in the same building as Staples on Rowland Way, according to city planner Stephen Marshall.

Construction is currently underway to create an 8,000 square-foot home for Mancini’s Sleepworld mattress and furniture store, according to property manager Jonathan Matsouki with Barker Pacific Group.

Mancini’s is slated to open in April according to company spokesperson Micah Burke. Burke said that a store in Petaluma recently opened and the Novato store will bring the company's locations to 31 in the Bay Area.

The Staples office supply store has already downsized its space as part of a corporate-wide move to reduce square footage of its stores by 15 percent by the end of 2015, according to a company news release.

The new Mancini's location will add yet another option to test mattresses in the Vintage Oaks mall area, which is already home to three other mattress retailers, including Macy’s Furniture Gallery, The Sleep Train and Costco.
