The World Series parade isn't until Wednesday morning in San Francisco, but there was a parade of people heading into Taco Bell restaurants all over the country on Tuesday afternoon.
Taco Bell gave away a free taco to all customers who requested one during a four-hour span Tuesday because San Francisco Giants outfielder Angel Pagan stole a base during the World Series.
The “Steal A Base, Steal A Taco” promotion promised that everyone would be treated to a Doritos Loco Taco if any player stole a base in the World Series. Lines formed outside the restaurants as people grabbed the freebies between 2 and 6 p.m.
In eighth inning of the Giants' 2-0 win in Game 2 of the World Series, Pagan got a great jump on a pitch by Detroit Tigers reliever Drew Smyly. Catcher Gerald Laird fired to second baseman Omar Infante but Pagan beat the tag.
This was the scene outside the Taco Bell on Seventh Street in Novato right after the handouts started. Where was Pagan? At a Taco Bell in Redwood City ... check out the video here.
