On Monday, we asked readers to name their favorite nightime music venue — restaurants and bars that have regularly scheduled live gigs. Finnegan's Marin, which opened in the heart of Old Town Novato in 2006, was the overwhelming favorite.

The back room at Finnegan's is a happenin' place on most nights. The Open Mic Night showcase on Monday's has been popular and features well-known local acts starting at 8 p.m. There are acoustic dinners on Saturday nights and karaoke, live solo acts or bands on most other nights — all without a cover charge.
