Finnegan's Edges Phyllis' in Best Burger Tally

Wow, there are a lot of different loyalties out there among burger fans. Novato Patch found that out this week when we asked you for — not considering the fast food chains or higher-end restaurants in town.

captured the Readers' Choice crown after careful calculations and a review of the contest rules. Although the Irish pub on Grant Avenue finished second in the unscientific poll to , Finnegan's had a number of positive reviews on its whereas Phyllis' had none. Plus there were more mentions of Finnegan's in the reader comments added to the story that ran all week long.

Finnegan's, which has won several other Readers' Choice contests in other categories, opened in the heart of Old Town Novato in 2006. It has five burgers on its menu — the Burger, the Big Little Quarter Pounder, the Old Fashioned Barbecue Burger, the Veggie Burger, Big Blue and the A Bomb.
