A toy store, a bocce facility and a 110-year-old nonprofit women’s organization highlight the latest batch of green businesses certified by the County of Marin. The 21 new businesses certified through the county’s program were honored Tuesday by the Marin County Board of Supervisors.
The newbies bring the total number of green businesses in Marin County to 427, with about 15 percent of them coming from Novato.
The program has three goals:
- Help business reduce consumption of water and energy while reducing pollution and waste
- Award certificates to qualifying businesses
- Improve the environment of Marin and the Bay Area
