Community Alliance Takes Up Marin Clean Energy Topic

Residents must opt out of the upstart 'green' power company in order to stay with PG&E.

The Novato Community Alliance, one of several groups that sprung to prominance  when Novato was struggling with zoning issues about affordable housing quotas, is having a lively discussion about Marin Clean Energy and the opt-out process by which residents would have to stick with power from PG&E.

The discussion includes about Pacific Gas and Electric's April 24 announcement that it wil provide a "green option" that would help fund wind farms, solar plants and other forms of renewable energy generation throughout the western United States. "With PG&E doing the same, there will be no reason for MCA/MEA to be in existence," reads one comment.
