Carl's Jr. Makes Way for Chick-fil-A

The Carl's Jr. that has sat empty by Moylan's Brewing has has been torn down and a Chick-fil-A will stand in its place.

The Carl's Jr. that closed and stood vacant across the parking lot from Moylan's Brewing Company has finally been knocked down.

A backhoe was breaking large pieces of the once fast food building into smaller chunks and putting them in a truck's open trailer.

In an attempt to find out when the new restaurant would be completed and open for business, a call was made to Chick-fil-A corporate headquarters in Atlanta.  Their message stated the office was closed "due to the inclement weather."

Thanks for sharing Bubba. I noticed you said "we" when referring to heterosexuals. Is that how you identify yourself, as heterosexual? If so, how did you come to be such an advocate of gay issues / gay lifestyles?
Bubba six pack January 30, 2014 at 11:06 PM
Live and let live, 3per. I don't know about you, but sex occupies less than 1% of my time, even when I'm on a scoring streak. If two people want to be together, then why should I care? We've got bigger problems to deal with every day. After we deal with hunger, world peace, mass genocide, disease, and our city budget, maybe then I'll look under someone's sheets to see if they're playing kosher.

Meanwhile, happy hour at Hilltop, a pepper steak at Moylans, Kiltlifter beer, and a smile from a stranger is all I need this Friday night to feel good about life. If a gay couple can also achieve this feeling, then more power to them.
novato 3per January 30, 2014 at 11:39 PM
If you are hetero, why so self depricating and apologetic? Also, you come out as Pro gay, yet make sexist comments about women, is there an irony there ? Maybe you're just a big ol' skirt chasin lesbian named Bubba, no? It matters not. Here's where I stand. What two consenting adults do in the bedroom is their business. I accept that gay unions will exist, and from a secular/ state perspective I'm ok with the same tax / legal provisons/ treatment of marriage for homosexuals. You point to stats on failed hetero marriages, if they ARE on the rise, it is directly proportional to the numbers of people who are abandoning faith - more often than not marriages are failing because they try to do it without God in their life. I will leave the discussion of Christian salvation aside for the time being, but I don't beleive it's appropriate to force a church to change it's beliefs or suffer revocation of it's tax status. More importantly, when we have a vested interest as a society to promote the mental health and well being of our children and the perpetuation of our civilization we know it, we must be sure to promote the most natural and healthy family models to bring them up in to continue a healthy population for generations to com,e keeping our nation and western civilization as strong as possible. It's inappropriate and terribly irresponsible for a society to try and convince children that a gay "marriage" is as completely beneficial to them and society as a natural biologically capable marriage, all other things being equal. Especially before or as they are just developing their own natural awareness of their own sexual identity. Only communists bent on destroying faith and family would do that to children. Even most gay folks I've talked to don't want their nieces and nephews being encouraged to explore a difficult lifestyle full of complications. And yes, I do beleive that while a number of homosexuals are born that way, an unknown percentage of homosexuals are NOT, but develop as a result of social encouragement, growing familiarity and acceptance with this phenomenon, negative experiences with the opposite sex, domineering parents, rape, sexual abuse, etc. All studies I've EVER heard of support a stable family with a mother and father in the home as the best way to secure a happy successful childhood and upbringing. You refer to "studies done"...feel free to cite any study when you get the chance. As a society we have a vested interest in responsible healthy procreation, or we will simply stop replacing ourselves like Europe, with their incredibly low birth rate and ongoing muslim invasion. Shall we just await the imported replacements from 3rd world nations? . Take Russia for example. Putin sees the writing on the wall, and has declared national "procreation days" and Russia's dwindling population is probably a big reason for the anti gay fervor rising in that country. Americans are trending toward fewer children, more hedonistic, self indulgent, smut ridden lifestyles, where extended adolescence and fear of taking responsibility and raising a family rule the day. That's why the corporations see the writing on the wall and want to import the willing masses from south of the border who are : cheap labor, uneducated and easy to manipulate, willing to procreate like rabbits, and plan on taking over..

I leave you with the following ugly statements I will fight with every element of my being. Statements which likely represents the sentiment of many of our new visitors / occupants: This an excerpt from a statement by Augustin Cebada of the Brown Berets de Aztlán, a paramilitary offshoot of the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA), delivered during a Fourth of July rally held outside the Federal Building in Westwood, California, in 1996: "We're here today to show L.A., show the minority people here, the Anglo-Saxons, that we are here, the majority, we're here to stay. We do the work in this city, we take care of the spoiled brat children, we clean their offices, we pick the food, we do the manufacturing in the factories of L.A., we are the majority here, and we are not going to be pushed around. We're here in Westwood, this is the fourth time we've been here in the last two months, to show white Anglo-Saxon Protestant L.A., the few of you who remain, that we are the majority, and we claim this land as ours, it's always been ours, and we're still here, and uh, none of this talk about deporting. If anybody's going to be deported it's going to be you. [SHOUTING] Go back to Simi Valley, you skunks! Go back to Woodland Hills! Go back to Boston! Go back to the Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You're old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you; leave like beaten rats. You old white people, it is your duty to die. Even their own ethicists say that they should die; that they have a duty to die. They're taking up too much space, too much air. We are the majority in L.A. There's over seven million Mexicans in L.A. County alone. We are the majority. And you're going to see every day more and more of it, as we ... we manifest as our young people grow up, graduate from high school, go on to college and start taking over this society. Our people ... are ... the vast majority of our people are under the age of 15 years old. Right now we're already controlling those elections, whether it's through violence or nonviolence. Through love of having children we are gonna take over."
True American January 31, 2014 at 12:10 AM
3per, you speak for all of our fellow Tea Party Americans who want to go back to the old ways of the forties and fifties before the commie liberal democrats started giving liberty to all. We need to encourage all who are dissatisfied with our current state of society to vote Republican and go back to the prosperity we had before Obama came. We were doing well until he showed up, and within a month our stock market crashed, our economy tanked, and millions of Americans went broke, all because if the liberal policies. We start with bringing back the McCarthy hearings, eliminate pinkos like Bubba, and making people know their place. Keep up the good work.
Sandy Harrison January 31, 2014 at 12:16 AM
Not sure how all of this started but Welcome Chick fil A!!!! Can't wait until opening day!
Allen January 31, 2014 at 12:34 AM
Obama single handedly crashing the stock market by becoming POTUS. Even Fox Business News doesn't say that.
novato 3per January 31, 2014 at 12:35 AM
Nice try Bubba. Nobody who truly talks so ignorant would know about the McCarthy hearings. "commie liberal democrats gave liberty to all?" What are you smoking? Do you mean Democrats, the party of slavery? The party of perpetual dependence on the state, hand in the pocket of the producers, creators, innovators? That's not liberty. And real Tea Party Patriots know that simply voting for a Republican these days will not necessarily get you a small government fiscal conservative patriot who will put America first. Too many sellouts. If there is a way to still vote ourselves out of this mess in a legitimately counted election, we will need to scrutinize our candidates for their stance on key issues, and this person may be very well be an independent. Shoot, I'd vote for a true ol' skool democrat like JFK in a minute but they don't exist anymore, the party's completely coopted by lock step socialist progressives.
novato 3per January 31, 2014 at 12:36 AM
Sandy, time for bed. We'll let you know when we're talking chicken again! ; )
Allen January 31, 2014 at 12:40 AM
3pr, surely you know that The Republican Party would not nominate Ronald Reagan either.
novato 3per January 31, 2014 at 12:40 AM
Allen, perhaps you haven't met True American, one of Bubba's many personalities when he's trolling the patch for strays...don't bite, don't feed him.
novato 3per January 31, 2014 at 12:41 AM
@ Allen: do you mean today's Republican party?
novato 3per January 31, 2014 at 12:44 AM
please elaborate
novato 3per January 31, 2014 at 12:48 AM
What a real leader and statesman Reagan was.
Allen January 31, 2014 at 01:02 AM
3pr: You do know that he granted an amnesty for all illegals in 1986?
novato 3per January 31, 2014 at 01:17 AM
Yes I do know that. I don't agree with everything Reagan did.

Reagan also negotiated with terrorists, created a new cabinet level position and made the largest tax increase in American history. I will remind you of the Bay Area's own Lee Rodgers saying: "Never fall in love with a politician. They'll only break your your heart."
Allen January 31, 2014 at 01:44 AM
Oh yeah, he would be not be nominated for dog catcher by today's Republican Party.

I can't believe a chicken sandwich opened up talk about Ronald Reagan!

Anything goes on the last few days. Then again the IQ of some are just one more answer. Just meet me and Bubba tonight and we can talk Football at the Hillie Top front bar 6 pm
Bubba six pack January 31, 2014 at 10:37 AM
I do not know True American and I do not agree with everything he says. I do not know Novato 3per and I do not agree with everything he says. I notice that they post about the same time, so they either feed off each other or they are the same person. I rarely mention my politics, as this is avenue for local opinions. We get off the track often, and I'm as guilty as the next person, but I only speak for myself, and others do not speak for me. Patch is in it's last days, and we will all be gone forever, so let's end it with some form of style.
Hopkin January 31, 2014 at 04:57 PM
Sandy, the rabbit talk on the Cooper's Market story should've led to Jimmy Carter and the bunny incident.
Sam January 31, 2014 at 06:29 PM
Bubba, You say Patch is in it's last days, and we will all be gone forever, so let's end it with some form of style. Ok I agree so Bring Tina and her gang with you to the Hilltop tonight as they are the ones who are causing it to close up shop.
Becky February 02, 2014 at 07:57 PM
I Hate Chick-Fil-A, because they refuse to spell fillet correctly. Is that because they're not fillets, but a sort of particle board of chicken scraps stuck together with food glue? Oh, and I don't like it when restaurant chains, or celebrities, or football teams get political.
novato 3per February 02, 2014 at 08:51 PM
The name/logo is a creative take on "chicken fillet," with the "A" standing for top quality. Chick-fil-A was registered in 1963. - See more at: http://www.chacha.com/question/how-did-chick-fil-a-get-its-name#sthash.TCw2uKgS.dpuf
