Bank of Marin to Close Newly Acquired St. Helena Branch

Wine Country branch used to be part of Charter Oak Bank, which Bank of Marin took control of in February.

Novato-based Bancorp is closing a branch in St. Helena that it acquired in February during a federally assisted takeover of a failed bank.

Bank of Marin of Charter Oak Bank through an FDIC-assisted transaction that included the St. Helena branch, which has been staffed out of the Napa office at 600 Trancas St. since the acquisition. The St. Helena branch will be closed April 29.

“Prior to when we acquired Charter Oak Bank, all employees were already working between the two branches, and after evaluating the costs of operating both offices, we’ve determined that consolidating our operations to the Napa office is the right decision,” said Peter Pelham, Bank of Marin’s executive vice president and director of retail banking. “Customer service is our top priority and our staff is available to visit business customers throughout Napa County by appointment.”
