After Getting Help, Novato Resident Learns Lesson on Consumer Protection

Lisa Scandurra thanks ABC7's '7 on Your Side' for retrieving thousands of dollars from a vacuum cleaner distributor after she had second thoughts about an expensive purchase.

With some help from a TV station's consumer protection staff, Lisa Scandurra of Novato fixed a situation that really sucked.

Scandurra recently allowed a door-to-door sales associate into her house and signed papers on a vacuum cleaner for more than $3,000. Saying she couldn't say no to the sales pitch, she immediately had second thoughts after she signed the papers and tried to cancel the order. When she couldn't reach the distributor, she called ABC7's '7 On Your Side' and got some help.
