HAPPENINGS AT THE DOG PARK

Students from San Marin help out at Dogbone Meadow Dog Park as part of Community Service Days.

The Friends of Dogbone Meadow want the thank the seniors of Class 2013. of San Marin High School for their hard work in helping us clean the park. Fourteen students, accompanied by their teacher, joined the Friends of Dogbone Meadow bright and early on Wednesday, May 1st at 8:30 a.m.  They worked hard in the hot sun, pulling foxtails, burrs and thistles.

Armed with the proper instruments the de-pooped the park, and also treated the gopher holes with cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil, to encourage the gophers to leave the park.  (They also poured dirt into the holes to hill them so that dogs and people wouldn't accidentally trip.)  After a late morning snack they planted a hopseed bush.  This bush is dedicated to the class of 2013.

Have you ever wondered how our next generation will turn out?  Have no worries: these young people showed us that they are hard working, respectful, intelligent and fun.  What more can we ask for?
