Four Arrested at DUI Checkpoint Friday in Novato

Of the 503 drivers who passed through the Novato sobriety and drivers license checkpoint, 12 were also cited for allegedly driving without a license.

Novato police arrested four people on suspicion of driving under the influence at a sobriety and drivers license checkpoint on Friday and cited numerous others.

The checkpoint in the northbound lane of South Novato Boulevard at Sunset Parkway screened a total of 503 drivers, police said Saturday.

Three people were cited for moving violations, 12 for driving without a license, three for driving on suspended licenses and four for allegedly driving under the influence, police said.

A total of 15 field sobriety tests were performed and seven vehicles towed.
