Benefit for Animals, Gardening Course, Neil Simon Play and More Fun Weekend Events

On Friday, head down to Tiburon for a pre-RCP Tiburon Mile Street Party. Meet Olympic and international elite swimmers and groove to live music by Pablo Cruise’s Dave Jenkins. 6-9pm. Free. Main Street, Tiburon.

On Saturday, UC Marin Master Gardeners and the Garden Conservancy host a workshop about how to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your garden at the Marin Art & Garden Center. Pick up tips about seeds, propagation, composting, conserving water, and more with speakers and demonstrations. 

Other highlights include bee keeping, raising chickens, tomato tasting and the opportunity to sign up for a half-hour edible garden planning consultation with a master gardener. $25 for full event with keynote speaker/$10 without keynote.

Also on Saturday, the Marin Humane Society hosts Woofstock, a benefit concert featuring music by a Rolling Stones cover band, Firetrail Pizza, wine, beer and a doggie dash contest. 2 - 5pm. Dogs are welcome. $15 in advance/$20 at the door.

If you’re in the mood for theater, check out Neil Simmons’ Rumors, a staged reading by the Novato Theater Company. The play is a madcap farce set at a posh suburban dinner party. Directed by award-winning director Kris Neely. Bring the whole family for an evening of laughter.  Friday and Saturday 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets $10 at the door. 5420 Nave Drive.
