Weekend Planner: Burlesque Show, Craft Fair and a Walk on Mt. Burdell

Check out what's happening around town this weekend? Heard of another cool local event. Please add it to the calendar. The more, the merrier!

We know it’s still October, but it’s never too early to start shopping for holiday presents. One good place is the 6th Annual Harvest Crafts Fair & Holiday Preview Show going on this Saturday in the Clubhouse at Los Robles in Ignacio.

More than 30 vendors including holiday decorations, handmade crafts, stylish jewelry and clothes, children’s toys, specialty food items and much more.  Saturday 10am to 4pm. Preview show held Friday. 100 Roblar Drive, Novato.

If you’re a gardener, check out the Fall Native Plant Sale at Greenpoint Nursery on Saturday. Get deals on native plants, hear from experts about the benefits of an owl box, learn how to make baskets with native plants and use natives for medicine. Also acorn crafting for kids. Free. Starting 10am Saturday. 275 Olive Ave.

On Saturday evening, grab your friends and head to Hopmonk Tavern in Novato to watch Cabaret de Burlesque & Beats. Sexy burlesque dancers spice things up with two shows, followed an electro-swing dance party. $10 in advance. 21 and over.

On Sunday, learn all about oaks at an educational outing on Mt. Burdell. Marin County Parks ranger will lead the walk, which is suitable for people ages 15 and up. The educational walk will cover the role of oaks in local ecosystems and teach participants how to differentiate between varieties. No animals (except service animals) allowed.

How? It’s easy. Just create a username and password, then click on Events, then on the green button on the top of the page that says “Post an event.” Voila! You’re done.
