Song Birds Bring Holiday Joy

Employees from Fireman's Fund take their lunch breaks and sing carols for seniors at Atria.

The holiday spirit triggers some amazing volunteerism in Novato every year. One musical example is the Song Birds, a talented group of employees who take time during their lunch breaks to sing all around town.

On a recent day, Novato Patch caught up with them during a session at the assisted living facility.

The group was formed in time for “battle of the bands” session a company picnic two years ago and decided to stick together. There are about 15 Song Bird members and usually six to eight take part in the weekly gigs. The group is not officially affiliated with Fireman’s Fund.

"We do this on our own time because we enjoy music and giving back to our community," said Patty Lufrano, one of the Song Birds.

How have you spread holiday spirit this year?
