Every Wednesday, Novato Patch honors a Whiz Kid in the community for doing something special in sports, school, for charity, or maybe for being amazing with numbers like last week’s San Jose Middle School’s Mathletes.
This week we honor a thespian triple-threat - he can sing, dance and act.

School: Elliott is a junior at San Marin High School
Great Deed: Started taking drama during his freshman year while keeping both feet on the court as the number one varsity singles tennis player, as well as running cross-country. Sophomore year saw him sing in jazz choir which led to major roles in both music and drama in “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Little Women." This year Elliott brought unmistakable joy to the role of the romantic, dreamy and persistent "Curly" in "Oklahoma."

Key to Awesomeness: “Elliott is an amazing young man. He really dedicates himself to the work he is doing and it shows... He learns quickly and is always looking for ways to improve. He is focused and very easy to work with. During the run of the show, he had some major projects due in his other classes, but somehow managed to get everything done and make it look effortless, even though he lost a lot of sleep making it happen.” Emily Gates, San Marin High Musical Theatre teacher.
For his part, Elliott says he feels comfortable and natural on stage. He’s never been afraid to speak in front of a crowd. “I have no shame up on stage, I’ll do anything on stage to get into a character. It’s fun portraying a person I would never be in real life.”
Whoever you happen to be Elliott, keep the joy!
