Weekend, an indie band featuring former Novato resident Shaun Durkan (Novato High, Class of 2003), has received a thumbs up from Rolling Stone magazine.

The group released its second album, Jinx, this week, which has garnered praise for its “goth sense of grandeur” and “post-punk stell-on-steel rhythm.” The band formed in San Francisco in 2009 and features Durkan, Kevin Johnson and Abe Pedroza. They are now based in Brooklyn, New York, but will be in the Bay Area this Friday to play The Independent.

Show starts at 9pm. Tickets $12 in advance or $14 at the door. For more details, click here.
