Why Go: Because this dinner/auction is Hamilton Meadow Park School's biggest fundraiser and it’s all about supporting local causes, right?  Delicious Cuban food and dancing to live music from the Hamiltones makes it all the better.

Why Go: Want to know how Tarzan’s classic yell was created?  Explore some of the secrets behind the making of "Tarzan and His Mate" (1934). Check out how technology and sound effects were used and then watch a new 35mm print from the Academy Film Archive.

Why Go: Pre-1950 books. There’s bound (pun intended) to be some real treasures here so go forth, peruse and collect.

FIRST SUNDAY OPEN STUDIOS

Where/When: Novato Arts Center, 500 and 501 Palm Drive, 781 Hamilton Parkway, Novato, Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
