Rotary's 18th Annual Western Polenta Feed is Saturday

Where there is food, there is sure to be fun. That about sums up the Rotary Club of Novato’s 18th Annual Western Polenta Feed and Dance taking place Saturday, Feb. 4 at Our Lady of Loretto hall, 1806 Novato Blvd. in Novato.

This crowd-pleaser is not just another event or another way Rotary participates in the community; this is the most significant event the Rotary Club of Novato sponsors.

“The Rotary provides much-needed services to the community. This is our largest fundraiser of the year – proceeds from this event enables our club to donate time, resources and funding to community projects that meet certain criteria” states Craig McCurdy, Program Chair of the western-themed, all-you-can-eat, fun and casual get-together.

Teacher awards, scholarships, supporting Blue Star Moms in packing and sending care packages to troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq; donation of labor and materials for a vegetable garden at San Marin High School; dictionaries to 3rd Graders in Novato’s public and private schools; and various other donations to Homeward Bound, Miss Marin, Novato Police Department, and YMCA, just to name a few.

“We always have more projects to choose from than we can possibly support," McCurdy said, "so that’s why proceeds from the Polenta Feed are so valuable and appreciated; contributing to charities throughout the Novato community is the premise, the underlying foundation, of our service organization.”

At $35 per person, the tax-deductible ticket values pan out to be just $12 each. Tickets will not be available at the door so to purchase your ticket in advance through a Novato Rotary Club member or call 883-2100. Folks can eat, have a lot of fun, spend time with friends and cohorts, and know they are contributing to the needs of numerous worthy organizations in Novato.
