Lofty idealism and corporate indifference are explored when a down-on-his luck writer, an idealistic waitress, a couple of wealthy tourists and other diners bare their souls and question the value of their lives after a notorious gangster arrives at the diner and takes everyone hostage.

Playwright Robert E. Sherwood, one of the original members of the Algonquin Round Table, received Pulitzer Prize for Drama honors for three of his plays, including “Idiot’s Delight.”
