STREETS OF HOPE: Alexandra & Soweto Townships, Photography Exhibit by Keven Seaver

Photographer Keven Ann Seaver's new exhibit, Streets of Hope: Soweto & Alexandra Townships, opens with a reception on Aug. 20 from 5 - 7pm at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Hamilton. Seaver's photographs, shot in two South Africa townships, reveal a life of hardship and struggle, filled with hope and optimism. They are gritty, intimate and raw street scenes coupled with captions that reflect the truth of post apartheid life in South Africa. A book of the same title, will also be available at the Museum. The show runs through Sept. 25 at MarinMOCA 500 Palm Dr. Novato (Hamilton), CA 94949.

Profits from sales of book and photos to benefit Friends of Alexandra, an NGO that provides for, and nurtures, AIDS-orphaned and underprivileged children in Alexandra.
