Lady D Sings Ella and more at Ghiringhelli’s

Lady D, the popular Novato jazz singer, will appear Thursday night, August 11, from 8 pm-11 pm) at Ghiringhelli Grill Pizza & Bar (www.ghiringhellisnovato.com). Known locally for her warm song-styling, Debra Schmaljohann performs with guitarists Alex Markels and Jack Prendergast. No cover.

Lady D’s love of jazz and song stylists began when a friend gave her an Ella Fitzgerald tape. To this day, Fitzgerald is her favorite singer.

"I fell in love with her singing – how she told a story through her music," Schmaljohann says.
