ArtFest 2012 at Novato High

Imaginations run wild when Marin School of the Arts & Novato High School art students take over the Old Gym & courtyard to present ArtFest 2012.

This 4th Annual ArtFest showcases a next generation of artists & benefits the NHS Art Department. Sustainability festivities are included for the first time, making this the best event ever, a little bit for everyone. Bring the family, win prizes, dance, laugh, and nosh!

MSA Digital Photography teacher Dana Tamura says, “ArtFest is an art and entertainment event for the entire family – a celebration of art and merriment."

Highlights:

  • The art show juried by the North Bay Art League features art students’ ceramics, paintings, photography, digital art and video–some for sale. Senior art students’ high-caliber Honors Projects range from the realistic to the fantastic to abstract and edgy.
  • Henna tattoos, art games, a cake walk with tasty culinary masterpieces decorated by art students, raffles, and bake sale.
  • New this year, an outdoor Sustainability Fest sponsored by the NHS Science Department will feature bicycle-powered blender drinks, a mini-farmers market, and native plants for sale by local growers.
  • Live music by award-winning MSA music student bands.

Cost: Free admission! Activities and raffle tickets $2, food, native plants and student art for sale; benefits NHS Arts Department.
