Dancer Returns to his Roots for Marin Ballet’s 50th Anniversary

For John Lam, Marin Ballet’s 50th anniversary is a homecoming. 

Lam, a dancer with Boston Ballet, grew up in San Rafael’s canal neighborhood with his parents, refugees from Vietnam. He was able to pursue his dance career through a scholarship program with the San Rafael-based Marin Ballet. See him talk about his upbringing in Marin in the above ABC Channel 7 video.  

The Performing Stars of Marin will honor Lam on Friday in San Rafael and the Marin Ballet’s 50th anniversary celebration is set for Saturday, April 13, at the College of Marin.
