Buck Institute Hosts 'Longevity Kitchen' Event on Living Longer Through Diet

Author Rebecca Katz joins Buck professors for panel discussion, food tasting, and book signing Saturday morning.

Is it possible to live longer and healthier life by eating a diet that delights your taste buds?

Rebecca Katz, author of the new cookbook The Longevity Kitchen, says yes, and she's set to make her case at Marin's Buck Institute on Research in Aging on Saturday morning.

Katz will be part of a panel discussion with Dale Bredesen, professor and founding CEO of the Buck Institute, and Pankaj Kapahi, an associate professor whose work is aimed at understanding the role of nutrition and energy metabolism in lifespan and disease.

The discussion will be followed by a food tasting featuring roasted asparagus salad with arugula and hazelnuts, Mediterranean gazpacho with avocado cream, and more. Katz will be signing books as well.

Katz's book and the Buck Institute event were the subject of a recent edition of Forum with Michael Krasny on KQED, available here and embedded above. Krasny will be moderating the Buck's panel discussion as well.
