Week Ahead: Open Mic, a Walk at Stafford and Recognizing a Longtime Novato Business

Check out what's happening in and around Novato over the next several days

Tonight, the Novato City Council will honor Ernie and Charlene Zunino, owners of Zunino’s Shoe Repair, who retired this September after nearly 50 years. The shop has an even longer history in Novato and was opened in 1910 by Ernie Zunino’s grandfather. Council meeting starts at 6:30pm.

Also tonight, Assemblymember Marc Levine, together with Think Marin, host a panel about the implementation of Common Core standards. A panel of experts will discuss what’s working in Marin. 6:30pm at Redwood High School, Larkspur.

Got talent? Stop by Hopmonk Tavern’s Open Mic Night on Wednesday and share yours. The open mic is available to all ages and sign ups start at 7pm. Performers get two songs or 8 minutes MAX and full bands are welcome. Goes until 11:30pm.
