If you’re a senior, check out the Produce Market at Margaret Todd Center held every Wednesday 10am-11am where fruit, veggies and other items are sold at a reduced cost. 1560 Hill Road, Novato.

Venture Greenhouse, an early stage business incubator at Dominican University, is holding an open house this Wednesday at 5pm. The program selects start-up companies that have significant social and environment impact potential and nurtures them through mentoring, networking and access to capital.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins this Wednesday night at sunset. On Thursday morning, Chabad of Novato will hold a special service at the Novato City Hall, 901 Sherman Ave., followed by the ceremonial shofar (ram’s horn) blowing at noon. For those who can’t leave work in the middle of the day, Rabbi Menachem will also blow the shofar at 5pm at a ceremony at Stafford Grove Park.

Always wanted to run in a race, but need a little motivational boost? Urban Escape Fitness in Novato is starting a training program to prepare runners for San Francisco’s Mermaid Run scheduled for November 10. First training run is this Saturday.

On Sunday, Hamilton residents are having a community garage sale event 9am-1pm. Nearly 30 homes are participating, so be sure to stop by if you’re looking for furniture, household appliances, books and more.
