Teens Combat Drinking Culture with Strong Photo Images
Novato Youth Council illustrates touchy issue during a community forum at Novato City Hall. Here are some videos and photos to give you a feel for what it was like.
Underage partying and drinking happens everywhere in the United States, but it's been recognized as a crisis in Marin County, where teens tend to have more resources at their disposal because of our demographics. Too often we're hearing about teen DUI crashes and alcohol-related deaths of minors.
The Novato Youth Council, which happens to be comprised of five girls at the moment — boys invited! — addressed concerns through a photo exhibit and public forum Thursday night at Novato City Hall. There have been public forums and seminars about the subject, but not to the scale that warranted the use of City Hall and attracted several members of the Novato City Council.
