San Marin Students Really Dig It at Miwok Park Planting Party

New program assists with projects in local parks.

About 20 San Marin High School students helped members of the Novato Streetscape Maintenance Coalition Advisory Committee and the parks crew from the city of Novato to beautify Miwok Park.

The Saturday work crew created a native plant garden that will be used for educational purposes at the Marin Museum of the American Indian, which is located at the park.

Michelle LaFevre-Bernt, a science teacher at San Marin, said the students will work one Saturday every month as part of a new program to assists with projects in local parks.
