St. Francis began as a mission in 1948. The present church was built in 1953 in a grove of old oak trees on Fifth Street, a half block south of Grant Avenue in the Old Town area. The campus also features an outdoor sanctuary, St. Clare’s Chapel, built by the early parishioners. More recently, a labyrinth was added to the grounds.

The church is at 967 5th Street. For more information, call 415-892-1609 or e-mail admin@stfrancisnovato.com. See a video about the church at:www.stfrancisnovato.com.
