Redwood Boulevard Improvements Continuing
Changes include turn out lanes, a new traffic signal and shorter cross walk
Wondering what all the work going on at Redwood Boulevard near Olive Avenue is?
We have some answers for you.
For the past three weeks, crews have been putting in left turn out lanes in each direction of the boulevard to improve the flow of traffic through the area.

The busy intersection will also get a traffic signal and new medians and shorten the cross walk. The latter will make crossing the street a little faster for elderly and handicapped pedestrians, according to city engineer Petr Skala.
“We have a traffic study done by consultant and the improvements are their suggestion to accommodate future traffic needs,” Skala said.

So why all the digging?
That’s because the work includes installing underground utilities, including electricity for the new traffic signal.
Work is expected to continue until the first week of September.
