Prepare for Final Space Shuttle Launch with Space Gear Talk

KGO's Jeffrey Schaub interviews Novato's Ken Winans about his out-of-this-world artifacts

In May, Novato Patch told readers about Ken Winans, an investment entrepreneur, award-winning author, radio commentator, philanthropist, renowned collector of space and finance memorabilia and master ski racer. He also serves as a trustee for seven nonprofits.

Now, KGO-AM 810's Jeffrey Schaub — also a Novato resident — has paid a visit to Winans and gets the lowdown on all of the space gear. His artifacts from NASA and the Soviet/Russian expeditions are on display at several museums plus what Winans calls his "man cave." It's perfect timing for this piece because the final flight of the Space Shuttle program is scheduled to launch sometime in the next few days, weather permitting.
