Novato Patch Invites Letters to the Editor

Periodic opinion pieces will appear alongside all the news, announcements and events this site provides.

Since Novato Patch five months ago, it’s been exciting to watch the community participation grow through comments on stories. Readers are growing used to the idea that a Patch site by uploading photos, creating announcements about recent accomplishments and posting notices about coming events. Readers add comments every day at the bottom of stories and on the Novato Patch Facebook page. I've also heard from many of you via e-mail with suggestions and feedback about our stories.

Now, consider this an invitation to write letters to the editor about issues of concern. Many of you have strong feelings about what’s happening in our city, and I’d like to showcase well-written contributions of no more than 300 words. You know as well as I do that the comments on opinion pieces can be just as informative and entertaining as the original story.

If you'd like to write longer guest column or op-ed piece, the door is open to those who are considered experts in particular issues. Elected officials and other leaders in Novato may use this site as a forum for dialogue.
