New Townhomes Proposed

Meeting held Wednesday night to discuss project

A Novato developer wants to build 23 new townhomes on the northwest corner of Main Gate and “C” Street in Hamilton.

The 2.7-acre project has been in the works for at least six years and will be discussed again Wednesday night at a community forum at the Hamilton Town Center, located at 500 Palm Drive.

The development would be three stories tall and consist of ten two-bedroom units and 15 three-bedroom units. The architectural style of the buildings would be Spanish Revival, with white stucco walls, red tile roof and metal and wooden frame balconies.

The housing is being proposed by Thompson Development, based in Bel Marin Keys, and is consistent with the Novato General Plan. A gas station was previously located at the site, which will have to be rezoned before building can start.

Wednesday’s meeting starts at 7pm at the Hamilton Town Center, 500 Palm Drive. 2nd floor.
