Marin Offers Free Opportunity to Dispose of Branches, Brush and Grass

The county is again hosting "Green Waste Days" in June.

The following is a news release from the county of Marin: 
 

The Marin County Fire Department together with the Marin County Board of Supervisors and West Marin Compost are pleased to announce “Green Waste Days” for 2014. 

Residents are encouraged to create defensible space around their home and bring the discarded material to Nicasio on Saturday and Sunday June 21-22 and July 12-13. The disposal site is located directly across from the Nicasio Corporation Yard and will be open from 9AM to 4PM.

Residents can bring branches, grass, light brush and similar materials. Please do not bring  any poison oak, building materials,  general debris or garbage.

This is a tremendous opportunity to improve the ability of firefighters to defend you home during a wildfire. There is no charge to drop off green waste.
