Map: Where are the Best Halloween Decorations in Novato?

Help us make a map of all the Halloween decorations in Novato and upload your photos of the spookiest spots!

Does your neighborhood go big for Halloween?

We want the scoop on the local haunted spots and best decorations around town. To do so, we've created an interactive map where you can add any locations you know of that have some festive and frightening Halloween decor, haunted houses or spooky events.

We have added a few locations we know of, but we want your help: Where are the best Halloween decorations in the area? Do you know of a neighborhood or business that goes all out? What are the best neighborhoods to trick or treat?

We've created this interactive map, and we hope you'll add to it! We'd like to see more Halloween spots around town - homes and businesses - that you think others might enjoy.

This map shows where Patch and its readers have spotted homes or businesses worth checking out. You can click the "add" button on the map to post a marker.

Don’t forget to upload photos too!

And while we’re on the Halloween subject, make sure you enter our national costume contest by uploading photos of your best Halloween costume, from this year or the past. And if you've put a costume on your pet, upload that photo to our pet Halloween costume contest for a chance to win a $50 gift card.

I am surprised to hear Cherry St. I used to live there and we never had any cool Halloween decorations:)
Abe October 26, 2012 at 02:13 PM
I don't see how to add to this map - can't find the add button... There is a good one at the Northwest corner of Sunset Pkwy and Cambridge St

The Christmas House on Devonshire is all decked out for Halloween.
Karen Dionne October 26, 2012 at 03:07 PM
I live across from the Christmas house on Devonshire Dr. and they do Halloween quite well too.

807 Grant Ave.. Novato.Left Coast Depot! Mike the owner and the chef has carved 5 or 6 pumpkins which are out of this world!! you must come and see them!
Patrick Hughes October 27, 2012 at 05:48 AM
Yeah, as Abe said above, you really need to make the map interactive as you state above that it is so we can actually post the locations of Halloween events!
John Baker October 27, 2012 at 11:17 PM
The best decorations are at the Cherry Street house, bar none!
Christina October 27, 2012 at 11:19 PM
Nothing tops Devonshire. He has been adding to his collection for years. Not a new be!
Christina October 27, 2012 at 11:21 PM
If you are looking for an actual haunted house, the one that the Rambonie's do for the food bank every year is great too. It is an actual HAUNTED HOUSE that you can go through.
Parker Davis October 28, 2012 at 04:07 AM
The Cherry Street house is awesome! They did the original Halloween display in San Rafael, they have a lot of interactive pieces and movies for everyone! You should see it for yourself!
Kellie October 28, 2012 at 05:17 PM
We have one on Peach St too!!
John Baker October 28, 2012 at 09:34 PM
Where is the one on Peach Street? I walked my dog down Peach earlier and didn't see anything...
Julie October 28, 2012 at 10:37 PM
My boyfriend and I drove around to all the houses mentioned in this thread today and I have to say that I agree with John and Parker that the Cherry Street House has the best Halloween decorations... It's just scary enough for Halloween and they don't have ANY of the blow-up things that are featured in the other house's decorations... The other houses are cool, but in my opinion are too cutesy for Halloween. I like how almost everything at the Cherry Street house moves and talks! If you haven't seen the house on Cherry Street, you need to go see it before you claim the other houses are better... Seriously...
Christina October 29, 2012 at 12:38 AM
Most people who do Halloween have little kids that trick-or-treat, thus the blowups and younger child attire. It is a kid (based) friendly holiday! If you are looking for teen/adult Domincan usually cannot be beat. Or hit up Exotic Erotic!! JK
Brenda Sooner October 29, 2012 at 01:44 AM
Whatever.
Brenda Sooner October 29, 2012 at 01:46 AM
These people work hard to do this, it's their passion, so if you're going to knock it, Christina then you can walk on....Diva out! YA Heard!
Anne Lufrano Varner October 30, 2012 at 04:11 AM
Novato youth center. They have a pretty cold haunted house. 680 Wilson ave. Call for hours. 892-1643
Christina October 31, 2012 at 02:36 AM
In case you cannot read I was the one supporting the decorations. Julie is the one knocking them, calling them kiddish. I am an avid decorater myself. It takes me days to do my Christmas display. I also do every other holiday of the year. I know what kind of hard work it takes. That is why I am sticking by supporting the Christmas house for Halloween and Christmas, Sumac, the Rombonies, Dominican and any other one I recommended to poeple. People should not be knocking decorations, blow ups or not. Someone spent a lot of money and time no matter what they put up.
Julie October 31, 2012 at 03:14 AM
All I was saying is that "in my opinion", the blow-up things are a little childish and I wondered whether you had visited the Cherry Street house before deciding which house had the "best" Halloween decorations. Sorry if you were offended!
Christina October 31, 2012 at 04:24 AM
I new what you where saying. And I think that childish and non-childish decorations are awsome. There should be decorations to appease many styles/ages. Brenda Sooner is the one getting NASTY about me tryng to support all the houses. Yes I did visit the Cherry st house. I thought it was awsome, but I still like Devonshire better. He has like 5 times as many items and only 3 out of 100 are blowups. Another nice house is on the corner of Cambridge and Sunset.
Maria October 31, 2012 at 04:51 AM
Cherry Street is way better!
Brenda Sooner October 31, 2012 at 04:59 AM
You know what's the scariest Halloween display? Christine's behavior on this post, I mean come on! Really girl, really? Smh, happy Halloween y'all!
Maria October 31, 2012 at 05:12 AM
Yeah, sorry Christina. I have to cast my vote for A Nightmare on Cherry Street too. Much more interesting in terms of composition and their characters are much more varied. Christmas goes to Devonshire but Halloween definitely goes to Cherry!
Christina November 01, 2012 at 03:57 PM
Sorry you think supporting my community and their decorations is scary. People should not be downing other decorations just to boost their own.
Christina November 01, 2012 at 04:06 PM
We all have our opinion that we are entitled to. I thought Cherry street was awsome too, I just prefered the other one better. After all Parker and his boyfriend Julie are just dissing others to promote their home on Cherry which shouldn't happen. We should be supporting our fellow decoraters. After all we decorate for the people to enjoy, not to compete who's is better. Right?.....!
