Kick Up Your Heels at Rotary's Polenta Feed on Saturday

Proceeds from dinner/dance-auction go to funding community projects.

It’s time to polish up those cowboy boots and brass buckles for a first-class hootenanny.

The 19th annual Rotary Club of Novato Polenta Feed and Dance is set to start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church’s events hall on Virginia Avenue.

There will be a silent auction, a dinner featuring world-class polenta and dancing to the music of Novato’s own Stage Fright band.

“I think it’s the camaraderie that brings people back,” said Peter Fulchiron, who handles ticket sales for the event. “Everybody enjoys each other’s company and the great food. It’s just a good time.”

Fulchiron emphasized the casual dress code and suggest western wear to get into the spirit.

The pie auction is one of the highlights of the evening as they often go for hundreds of dollars. Most proceeds will go toward Rotary endowment funds and other community projects.

Our Lady of Loretto Church is at 1806 Novato Blvd. and the entrance to the hall is on Virginia Street near Grant Avenue.

Tickets are $40 and none will be sold at the door. Call Fulchiron at 883-2100 for tickets and other details.
