Goodbye Novato and Thanks for the Memories

Dear readers.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and is feeling refreshed and ready to tackle 2014. It’s been wonderful getting to know Novato over the past six months and reporting on stories readers care about, from affordable housing battles to pension reform and the Hamilton wetlands restoration.

Now the time has come for me to say goodbye.

Starting next week, I will take a position with the Bay Area News Group (owners of Oakland Tribune, San Jose Mercury News and Contra Costa Times) in the East Bay. I will cover breaking news and also dig into investigative stories about schools, local governments and nonprofits, some of which I was able to do while in Novato.

I want you to know that the search for a new Novato editor is already underway. If you have reporting experience and like to write about local issues, this may be a job for you. For more information, visit patch.com/jobs.
