'Fifth Quarter' Author to Appear in Novato

Freelance journalist Jennifer Allen is the daughter of former NFL coaching legend George Allen.

A longtime NFL coach's daughter who chronicles her turbulent upbringing in a recently-published book will appear in Novato later this month.

Jennifer Allen's "Fifth Quarter: The Scrimmage of a Football Coach's Daughter" documents a complicated relationship with her father George, the legendary former coach of the Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams.

Jennifer Allen is a freelance journalist who has contributed to Rolling Stone, the New Republic and Mirabella, among other publications.

She will appear at Loveable Rogue on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
