Volunteer at Olompali State Historic Park

Eager to help your local State Parks?

Join us Sunday, April 15, 9am - 1pm as we prune the orchard and paint the blacksmith house at Olompali State Historic Park in Novato.  No experience needed, and all ages are welcome!

The Park Champions Program holds volunteer work days in state parks across California and was created in response to the unprecedented budget cuts and closures that California parks face right now.

In partnership with California State Parks, Park Champions provide consistent, sustainable volunteer support in the areas of park maintenance and beautification.

This volunteer project at Olompali will be an easy task for a team of volunteers, resulting in significant time savings for park staff. And not to mention - fun! We provide everything you will need but you are encouraged to bring your favorite pair of work gloves.

About Olompali:
Did you know? Olompali's serene hills and waters have been home to Coast Miwok, landed gentry, Catholic priests, a psychedelic rock band and a hippie commune.

The 700-acre park reveals these layers of California history in many ways, through wonderful exhibits in the Visitor Center, to the remaining historical buildings - some standing tall and others in a state of arrested decay, and finally in signs perhaps only a knowing eye can identify along the lovely hiking and horseback riding trails.
