Two-Day Leadership Camp and Air Show

See the Thunderbirds Fly with the Air Force JROTC at July 30-31 Summer Camp

All Marin high school students are invited to join the Air Force JROTC at their two-day summer camp July 30-31. Students interested in aviation or character building and capability can take advantage of a free introduction to the basic JROTC skills training in problem solving, leadership/followership, communication, team building and sports. Saturday’s program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon followed by a barbecue and is open to all students.  On July 31, the students who enroll in JROTC will go see the Thunderbirds fly at an air show at Travis Air Force Base from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., also free of charge.

Any student interest in attending the JROTC summer camp must call Hiroshi Yamaguchi no later than July 20 at 415 314-5429.

The AFJROTC is also accepting enrollment all summer for this fall’s elective class. They are highlighting their Career & Academics Skills 101 class. Students learn organizational skills, calendar, listening and note-taking skills. They learn to wear business attire, gain friendships and confidence, as well as communication, leadership skills and job skills. The program’s top recent accomplishments include: 100% of 2011 graduates are attending college with numerous full-tuition college scholarships earned, appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, sophomore speech winner, Novato Inspirational Student Achievement Award Winner, Novato Police and Fire Explorer Cadets, and FAA certified airline pilot.
