Marin Master Gardener Information Session

If you have a passion for gardening and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others along with an interest in lifelong learning and community service, then becoming a Master Gardener might be just the thing for you. Join other like-minded men and women in Marin County in gaining knowledge about the life of the garden and putting into practice what you have learned to benefit our community and the environment. There is something for everyone in this group of dedicated gardeners: putting into practice what you have learned about sustainable landscape practices, promoting community gardens and youth gardening, feeding your neighborhood and using local food sources, and creating a healthier environment through all of these practices.

There will be an information session on Thursday, September 22, at 2 P.M. in the Novato Master Gardener Office, 1682 Novato Blvd-Ste 150. The deadline for applications for the Class of 2012 has been extended to Monday, September 26, 2011 (or: Applications for Class of 2012 will be accepted until Monday, September 26, 2011). Completed applications are due at the UCCE office in Novato by 4 P.M. Individual interviews take place in October, there is an Orientation Luncheon in November and successful applicants begin the training course in January of 2012. Scholarships are available.
