Participate in the California Coastal CleanUp, part of an international effort to clean up our ocean and beaches of man-made trash and litter. In Novato we will be working on Novato Creek and Warner Creek, as well as Scottsdale Pond.
Eighty percent of ocean debris comes from creeks and rivers, so this is our opportunity to reduce the amount that Novato contributes.
Bring gloves and wear sturdy shoes or boots that can get wet. BYOB — Bring your own Bucket — to collect the trash. It can be consolidated into bags. We want to reduce the number of bags thrown into the garbage. A free BBQ at the Bay Model in Sausalito for people who help is open from noon to 3 p.m.
