Cub Scouts Answer Call to Duty on Memorial Day

Pack 27 from Hamilton helps make ceremony special at cemetery.

Cub Scouts from Pack 27 in Hamilton said they were honored to take part in the Memorial Day ceremony Monday at in Novato.

Members of the pack placed about 600 American flags next to headstones at the cemetery to pay tribute to those who served in our nation's military. They also paid special thanks to American Legion Post 540, which has supported scouting in Novato since 1935.

Elaine Chyrklund, the mother of a scout, said participation in the ceremony each year “makes the boys realize how lucky we are to have all the men and women in the military protecting us.”
