Come volunter at the Novato Youth Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Calling all volunteers, come volunteer to help kids and improve the Novato Youth Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Kaiser Permanente will be fielding volunteers on the Martin Luther King Day of Service at the Novato Youth Center. Support for this effort is also being provided by Rebuilding Together Petaluma as a regional volunteer coordinator.

When: January 20th 8am to 3pm

Where: 680 Wilson Avenue

Volunteers will be improving the multipurpose room and attending to as many of the following tasks as time and number of volunteers permit. The projects include: installing a handmade computer lab workbench - carpeting, painting and installing three handmade reading cubby benches - painting two bookshelves - painting wine barrel planters with kids - hand sewing curtains for the kids' puppet theater - bookmarking educational websites on computers for kids to access easily - painting a hop-scotch board on the concrete patio in front of the building -replanting four garden beds - if weather permits.

Wear work and painting clothes. All tools will be supplied but feel free to bring yours if you prefer to use your own.Coffee, tea and bagels in the morning and lunch at noon will be provided.
