AIDS/Lifecycle Practice Riders Pedal Past Stafford Lake

Hundreds of bikers cruised through Novato on Saturday, motivated to ride to benefit AIDS research.

Bikers practicing for the epic annual AIDS Lifecycle/Ride to End AIDS pedaled through Novato last weekend. What is their motivation?

The ride started at Mike’s Bikes in San Rafael at 8 a.m., and hundreds of roadies could be seen pedaling on the shoulders of the scenic roads of West Marin and Sonoma.

When the riders approached just west of Novato at about noon, the rest stop must have been a welcoming oasis for the weary riders in the 80 degree heat.
