In case you haven't seen it, there is a great YouTube clip circulating around the Internet and which has already received more than 8,000 hits.
The film captures Novato in 1955 and offers a sort of time capsule of what our town was like nearly six decades ago. Featured in the archival footage are the Pini Hardware store, Novato Theater, the Novato Fire Protection District and many other local landmarks. The narrator of the film is unknown, but shows a rural community undergoing rapid transformation as new roads, housing and schools are built.
