The Tigers are the 2013 Novato Babe Ruth World Series Champions. The Tigers rose from being the third seed in the American League to win the AL Playoffs, and earn their way into the World Series Game against the NL playoff champion Marlins. The Tigers got off to a fast start, getting two runs in the first on a ground out by Robby Marchesiello, and an RBI single from Paolo Marchi. The Marlins answered back with a run in the bottom of the first on an RBI double from Evan Dominguez, and tied it in the fourth on a single by Nick Beyer.  The Marlins then took the lead in the fifth as Sebastian Gocobachi and Daylan Birlin opened the inning with singles.  Dominguez got a run home with a single, and Peter Hunt coaxed a full count walk to force home another.  As champions must do, the Tigers fought back in the top of sixth. They got started by taking advantage of a catcher’s interference call, and a hit batsman to open  the sixth. David Thoma followed with an RBI double to make it 4-3.  Another hit batsman loaded the bases for Tyler Sovig, who delivered a two run double to left center  to put the Tigers back on top 5-4. The back and forth game continued as Logan Desmond opened the Marlins half of the sixth with a double , and Ricky Clary got him home with a single, and a 5-5 game.

The Tigers loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the seventh, but could not score. The Marlins got a runner to third in the bottom of the seventh, but were also turned away, setting up the dramatic eighth inning for the 2013 League Championship. Marcus Brown was hit by a pitch to lead off, and Tyler Sovig followed with a single. A two out walk to Robbie Marchesiello loaded the bases for Paolo Marchi, who drove a single to center to drive in the lead run, and another  run scored on a throwing error to get the Tigers back in the lead at 7-5. With fans roaring, the Marlins tried to get back in the game. Nick Lucchesi started it off with a single, and Gocobachi was hit by a pitch. When Birlin was walked to load the bases, the Marlins had the winning run at first with no outs. Clary got one run home with a single to make it 7-6, with the tying run now at third, and the winning run in scoring position at second, still with no outs. But Robby Marchesiello then retired the middle of the Marlins order, on two pop outs and ending the game with a strike out after a twelve pitch battle, and the Tigers could finally celebrate.
