The "Fun's Up When the Sun's Up" with New Rotary President

The Novato Rotary Sunrise Club has always had a reputation of having “way too much fun” - especially for so early in the morning. Although they hold their meetings at 7 a.m. every Tuesday at Moylan's, and are the smallest Novato Rotary with only about 50 members, they seem to have so much fun that many Novatoans don't realize that they also make major contributions to not only North Marin, but also to County, State and even International Projects. For example, the Rotary “Sunrise Club” sponsors the “Laws of Life” Scholarship program in Novato High Schools, provides free dictionaries to local 3rd graders, works directly in area literacy programs, puts on the annual “Fishing In The City” and beautifies Novato by landscaping street medians, the Hamilton Museum, and other sites. On an International level the Sunrise Club works with other Rotaries and partners to eradicate polio from the world, provided shelters to earthquake victims in Dominican Republic and has funded clean water projects in Africa and Equador.
Carolin Guererro, longtime local real estate professional, has just taken the helm of this energetic local Rotary, and local clubmembers are preparing for the “fun” reputation to become even more entertaining. Guerrerro has been a member of Rotary Club Novato Sunrise for 16 years, and has lived in Novato for 41 years. During 40 of those years she was a licensed Real Estate Agent, working with Bradley Real Estate for the last 8 years. Guerrero and her husband, Chuck, avid 49er fans, have 2 sons and 2 grandaughters to add to their joy. As President, Guerrero promises even more fun and community service by the Novato Sunrisers.
