Summer Middle School Leaders-In-Training Opportunity

At the Novato Youth Center – Limited Openings!

This summer the Novato Youth Center is excited to launch their Leaders in Training Program for 6th through 8th graders, as a component to their 1-UP-4 College Program. The three to eight week program aims to support students in becoming confident leaders in their lives and community, while packing in plenty of summer fun!

Youth accepted into the program will participate in a variety of activities.  They’ll learn mentoring skills and help promote reading to younger students.  During other parts of the day they’ll receive direct training in the areas of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Creativity to boost their leadership abilities.  They’ll also engage in a program aimed specifically at teaching them how to be a leader in our digital age.  Weekly field trips, art projects, guest visits from local leaders, snacks, plenty of exercise and games will round out the fun.

For more information about this special summer opportunity, including fee structure, please call Ally Oxenhandler at 415-892-1643 ext. 316 or email aoxenhandler@novatoyouthcenter.org  Students will be accepted based on an interview process and must enroll with Novato Youth Center for a minimum of three weeks over the summer to attain a certificate of completion.

The Novato Youth Center is a private non-profit organization in its 37th year of service to Novato’s youth and families.
