Twenty-one children will go to school this Fall with new school backpacks and the classroom supplies they need to help them succeed. The Rotary Club of Novato recently packed the bags they purchased for the children, who receive aid through Homeward Bound of Marin. Rotary also donated the supplies and gift cards.
The Rotary Club of Novato was chartered in 1954, and is regarded as one of the premier Rotary Clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Club is known for its active participation in many international and local community service projects, like constructing fresh water wells in the Philippines, supporting Micro Credit programs in Central America, and donating needed supplies to schools in Vietnam. Local projects include Nova-Ro low-cost senior housing, giving dictionaries to all 3rd grade students in Novato, providing student scholarships and teacher appreciation recognition awards, and more.
If you want to want to help change your local community for the better and improve lives of people worldwide consider becoming a Rotarian.
The Rotary Club of Novato meets at the Margaret Todd Senior Center 1560 Hill Road at 12:15 pm every Friday. To attend a Rotary Club of Novato meeting or learn more about Rotary, contact Gary Bramon 415-250-9900 or visit www.NovatoRotary.org
